KS2/KS3 Badge Winners
As part of our emotional literacy and Ks2/ 3 initiatives the D & T department has again run a competition in conjunction with our primary feeder schools. The competition was to design a badge to be worn by all Y7 students when they start school at Whitchurch in September.
The theme for this years competition was ‘Discover something new’ following one of the themes in the curriculum that year 7 will be following during the year.
The winning designs were chosen from each of the feeder schools by their respective school councils, the overall winner was then chosen by WHS school council. The winning design was manufactured by Brilliant Badges. Cardiff Rotary Breakfast sponsored the manufacture of the badges.
The competition was won this year by Isabel Paisey of 7M who attended Eglwys Wen school. Isabel along with the other winners from our feeder schools was presented with her prize in Y 7 assembly by Mr. Richard Cunningham of Cardiff Rotary Breakfast.

Many thanks to Mrs Lauren Saleh of the Design and Technology department for organising the competition, and again to Cardiff Rotary Breakfast for sponsoring the prizes and the manufacture of the badges.
This is the fifth year that the competition has run and I am delighted to congratulate the first winner of the competition Dale Boorman on gaining an *A in Design and Technology at G.C.S.E. and to wish him well in his future studies.
