Senior Sports Dinner 2001


This year was another great success for our senior sports men and women and it again culminated in our annual senior sports dinner. This year a large number of pupils attended and it was excellent to be able to welcome the staff who helped with teams and members of the school senior management team to the evening.
The guest speaker this year was Mr Phil Steele who is now a BBC commentator and renowned after dinner speaker. Phil during his playing career represented Glamorgan Wonderers Youth team with Mr Huw Jones Williams and I know they both had a great night talking about their rugby exploits!
Then he moved on to play for Glamorgan Counties, Welsh Academicals, Welsh Colleges, Newport and Wales ‘B’. Phil gave a great funny talk in his usual manner which both the staff and students thoroughly enjoyed.

I would like to thank all the pupils and staff for all their hard work over the year and the support from the school senior management.
The department would like to take the opportunity to thank Mr Huw Jones Williams for his continuous support of the Senior Sports Dinner and of the school sporting teams throughout the year.
Finally we would like to which the Senior Football team and the girls under 14 side the best of luck in the Welsh Schools finals on the 14th May. It is a great achievement which the school is very proud of good luck.
