Charity Fashion Show

On the 8th April 2011 a charity fashion show was presented by Ms Jules Edwards and Mrs Sharon Neesham on behalf of Rwanda Restored and Pont respectively.  The event was held in the Upper School Hall and consisted of a fashion show and craft fair with plenty of good food and drink to savour during the interval.

The following pupils from Whitchurch High School Year 9 were selected to model the clothes, a mixture of donations from the Fair Trade store located in Canton with the remainder from friends and colleagues of the School. They did an excellent job of promoting them with their superb catwalk performances; with thanks to Kate Morgan, Steph Cole, Ellie Taylor, Shannon Tenby, Toby Lewis, Sophie Owen, Alice King, Hollie Nesham, Kate Seary, Ibrahim Afsar, Miles Pearson, Beth Nesham, Anwen Nesham, Rhian Paolella, Amelia Claydon, Natasha Stephens, Tom Candlin and Olivier Blampain.

Due to a shortage of men’s clothing the boys agreed, perhaps too eagerly, to model a few of the evening fashion garments with great style and charisma but have promised not to make it a regular occurrence!  A special thank you to all the staff who contributed towards the evening, too many to mention here, in particular Mrs Anthea Thomas who compered the event with great panache!

A welcome speech was given by our Headteacher Mr Huw Jones-Williams followed by introductions outlining the functions of Pont and Rwanda Restored. During the interval a raffle was held with prizes kindly donated by a number of small businesses based in Whitchurch which were gratefully received and contributed towards the final £800 raised.
