In May 2010, 56 KS3 pupils, all studying German, plus the Fraus Carter, Arthur, Meyrick and Kellner and Mr Morgan, spent a fab six days in and around the beautiful town of Zell am See in Austria. We had a mixture of weather – gloriously hot and sunny some days and a bit too wet and rainy on others, which meant that some of the summer tobogganing had to be cancelled, but we didn’t let it spoil our fun.
Other than shopping until they dropped in beautiful Salzburg, known for Mozart and the Sound of Music, our lively WHS pupils found boundless reserves of energy for trampolining, beach volleyball, summer tobogganing, swinging and climbing through tree tops, abseiling, zip-wiring, ascending glaciers in cable cars, snowball fights, sledging, swimming, football and crazy disco dancing. Many of these activities were to be found at our centre, Club Kitzsteinhorn, which we have been using for 15 years – a fabulous place.
A great trip and a great chance to soak up Austrian culture and the German language.
