Trevor Sampson and his Band
Trevor Sampson is an Internationally acclaimed performer and composer who is the founder of The Restoring The Sound Centre in Macassar, Cape Town, South Africa. He has performed on stages throughout the World and his music is an fascinating eclectic mix of African music, including the gospel genre. Trevor’s nine piece band will finish their month’s European tour with their Whitchurch High School concert and fly home back to Macassar the following week.
Trevor Sampson founded the RTS centre in a disused two storey building which lies in the heart of the Macassar Township, opposite Macassar High School. The RTS centre has state of the art musical performing and recording facilities as well as community facilities, such as a pottery centre and internet café. Trevor’s vision and dynamism continues to bring further hope and pride to the Macassar community. We continue to remain inspired by his work.
Trevor Sampson has been visiting the school since 2003. We have also visited the RTS centre a number of times. These visits have been linked to our long standing partnership with Macassar High. Trevor has in the past worked with our music students and will be once again be giving a workshop on this visit. We are looking forward to meeting Trevor, a long standing friend and supporter of Whitchurch.
