Oliver's Doodle
Every year Google run a design competition for young people. The idea is to redesign the Google logo using a theme set by the Google Company. This year’s theme was “My Hero”.
The GCSE Applied Art and Design group all designed a logo for the competition and their art teachers chose the six best designs to send off to Google.
Oliver Davies chose the artist “Picasso” as his hero. He designed a very creative and skilful logo which won the Welsh award for his age group. He is now in competition with 11 other winners from different regions of Britain. You now have the chance to vote in the competition online.
In total there were 50,000 entries for this competition so Oliver has already done extremely well. If he gets enough votes Oliver and our school will win valuable ICT equipment. Oliver’s design will also replace the Google logo for a day. If he wins the overall prize he and his family will win a holiday in California.
