Diana Certificate of Excellence Award

The Diana Award recognises young people that are committed to helping others. A group of year 8 pupils from Whitchurch High School were honoured to receive this award because of their dedication towards charity work, raising money for the Rwandan Appeal and sponsoring an orphan girl to receive an education.
The 'Diana Certificate of Excellence Award', is a new scheme administered by the Diana Award team to recognises the outstanding contribution of young people who work together in groups to improve their communities, organisations or schools, hence 8C received this exclusive award for their continual charity work within school.
Miss Hayley Davies, Miss Julie Edwards (form tutors), Eleanor Taylor and Ibrahim Afsar (class representatives) attended the ceremony in London where they were greeted by Maggie Turner OBE Chief Executive, Diana Award, and the Rt Hon Nick Gibb MP, Minister of State for Schools.
Eleanor and Ibrahim accepted the award on behalf of their peers and were presented by Sue Killen, Chief Executive, St John Ambulance.
An excellent day was had by all and a proud moment for not only the form group but all of Whitchurch High School.
