Careers Wales

On Tuesday 3rd and Wednesday 4th November our Year 9 students had the opportunity to participate in activity days that were organised to introduce them to the careers and options processes. This year’s programme was slightly different to last years, it comprised of a carousel of three activities in the morning including Careers Wales talks, option booklet information and a presentation from successful entrepreneurs who have planned and developed businesses.
In the afternoon the students had two very interactive sessions, firstly a series of team building exercises organised by the army, youth service and our own 5x60 officers. Finally, the students had the opportunity to visit a careers fair based in our Dutch Barn facility, over 15 businesses, colleges and training providers supported the event on each of the two days.
Mr Hodnett would like to thank all those who contributed to the successful event, in particular Mr John Oliver (Careers Wales), who coordinated the careers fair in the afternoon.
