On the 5^th of December 2008, the Whitchurch Wasps Rowing Club entered the Welsh Schools Indoor Rowing Championships. There were a record number of schools that attended from all over Britain. This year a record 68 members went to compete from Whitchurch and were by far the biggest group there.

The event was split into individual racing in the morning and team relays in the afternoon.

Here are the results from the Welsh Schools Indoor Rowing Championships.

Will Akins 7M - Gold in the individual. Will led right from the start and held on to win his gold

Claudia Price 7P - Silver in the individual. Claudia became the fastest Yr 7 girl in Wales as gold went a school from Birmingham.

Carys Lowe 8G - Bronze the individual

Ella Jackson 9J - Bronze the individual

Lauren Burely 10P - Bronze the individual

Dale Boorman 10T - Bronze the individual

Overall, Whitchurch came 3rd. We beat all the other schools in Cardiff. 2nd place was Ysgol Duffryn Taf and 1st place went to Colmers School and Sports College from Birmingham.

It was a very good day and Mr M Williams is very proud of his squad Well done all.
