Short Story Competition
To enter this competition, pupils were expected to write a story consisting of no more than 1200 words and were instructed to use following as an opener;
“Better start running”, he said with an evil grin, patting the shrouded cage beside him. “You’ve got a thirty second head start and then I let it out.”
This was supplied by the author, Mark Walden.
There was a tremendous response to this competition and the stories were of a very high standard. Unfortunately, I was only allowed to submit ten stories which made it very difficult.
However, congratulations to the following:-
Ceinwen Jenkins-7N.
Aniela Pawar-7S.
Stephanie Cole-7L.
Jessica James-7B.
Lucy Felton-8W.
Hannah Jenkins-8K.
Samantha Wainwright-8N.
Rhona Graham-8T.
Fay Steere-9J.
Georgina Glover-9P.
All ten stories have been submitted to the UK final of this competition and if a pupil is successful, their stories will be published in an Anthology of Short Stories and the book presented to them by the author, Stewart Ross.
