We are running a Digital Media competition in the last three weeks of term for all pupils and staff. Staff and pupils have been circulated on details of the competition, which is to send in a photograph and up to fifty words on “What Whichurch High School means to me.”

We are hoping that all who take part in this e-project will enjoy this fun competition as we move to the end of a very successful academic year and capture perhaps some of the many events, which are happening in these last few weeks. The winning dozen entries will be made in to an e-calendar displayed on the website over the forthcoming year.

Our increased ability to support e-learning, especially digital music technology has recently been greatly enhanced by the opening of our new Music Centre which has a suite of Apple Macs specified with the latest music composing and capturing software, linked to a digital recording studio.

On Thursday 16th July   and Friday 17th July Trevor Sampson, Internationally renown musician will be visiting the school from Macassar, Cape Town, South Africa  to work with our students using the new recording studio. ON Thursday 16th July there will be a joint music “Grateful Concert” put on  by Whitchurch  High School and Trevor Sampson’s group. Musie from this will be mixed the following days. We already have Grateful CD available  for sale as part of this joint venture.

All proceeds will go to Trevor’s registered charity “Restoring the Sound” project which involves Macassar High School, our linked International school in Cape Town. We also welcome by complete coincidence and good luck Maccasar High School visitors on Thursday 2nd July for two weeks until Thursday 16th July.

International website section: We would encourage all pupils and staff to send us photographs of where they have been if they travel overseas during the summer holidays so we can continue to further develop and update our world map.
