Yes to Foundation Status, it makes sense.” Whitchurch Governors

Click on a button below to navigate around this part of the Governors’ website, where you will be able to find out about our positive proposal to seek Foundation Status for 1st September 2010.  It is similar in format to our section on the Council’s School Organisation proposal, which at present is to reduce the size of Whitchurch High School from 12 to 9 form entry. The governors are opposed to this.

Foundation schools are able to determine their own admissions, own their own sites and land (or put it into trusts), and employ their own staff.   There will be a formal period of consultation with staff, parents and pupils of the school as well as our feeder schools, the LEA and others.  As a Foundation School Whitchurch will still offer a comprehensive education on a non selective basis and will continue to go from strength to strength. We will continue to support and further develop our outstanding partnership links with our primary partner schools and the wider community.

We very much hope that the Whitchurch High School will hold Foundation Status from 1st September 2010.
