• We provide disaffected/disruptive pupils, or pupils with poor social skills, with an interested member of staff to talk to on a 1:1 basis.

• We focus on boosting pupils self-esteem.

• We work with pupils to arrive at strategies for improving behaviour/relationships at school.

• We help pupils find the motivation to make these changes.

• We provide pupils with emotional difficulties with 1:1 pastoral support on a regular basis.

• We help pupils who are struggling academically because of behaviour or emotional difficulties.

• We offer specific support to pupils for whom non-attendance is a key issue.

School Benefits

• The Support Centre adds another tier to school behaviour policy.

• Our pro-active approach has had impressive results, particularly with year 7 pupils with poor primary school records.

• We assist Learning Leaders/Heads of School with pupils who are not achieving because of emotional or behavioural difficulties.

• We carry out learning assessments and prepare IBPs and pupil profiles.

• We arrange outreach visits to pupils who are not attending school.

• We disseminate information to staff teaching these pupils, and share information with SENCO regarding SA/SA+/Statemented pupils.
