Sociology

Students of Sociology follow the AQA specification. This course involves the study of six units over two years and covers topics such as the family, crime and deviance and the world sociology. Students who follow the course develop a crucial awareness of the social world that we live in. It is a very interesting and academically fulfilling subject that will prepare you for the demands of work or university life.

 

Psychology

Students of Psycology follow the new four unit specification produced by the WJEC. This new award focuses on the study of psychological theory and research methods and when they are applied to particular issues. It is a very interesting course particularly suited to young people who are inquisitive and who are genuinely care for people who make up the society we live in.

 

Health and Social Care

Health and Social Care students follow the AQA double award specification which involves the completion of 12 units over two years of study. Students learn about effective caring skills, caring for venerable groups such as the elderly and those who have been classified as having a mental disorder. Students also study units from biology such as anatomy and physiological disorders. The Health and Social Care course will help to develop the knowledge required for employment in the health care professions.
