IRELAND

The aim of this project is to provide the resources for students to embark on a study of the history and politics of Northern Ireland. After using these resources students should have had experience of:-

• using the internet as a learning tool, 

• the history of Ireland in the 19th century and 

• the political problems facing the British government in Northern Ireland.

Ireland is a very difficult and often controversial subject and it would be advisable before proceeding to the political resources relating to recent issues students are advised to work through the brief history of Ireland in order to have a basic background knowledge of the issues.

Ireland 1815-1914 and Recent political issues

When students have completed their research of the resources they will be able to test their knowledge by attempting the final assignment. This specifically relates to the Government and Politics a level and will allow students to answer a question on northern Ireland.
