The school is now £100 richer thanks to the efforts of camera operators Dafydd Gape, and Sam Stensland, and presenters Tom Sinclair and Ben Travers.

Their efforts in September at Celtic Manor, during a soggy day’s filming on the golf courses, won the ‘Best Golf Film’ award at this year’s Media 4 Schools Awards Ceremony, hosted by our own Ellie Crawley.

They also interviewed Economic Minister Ieuan Wyn Jones, and local business workers with an interest in the massive sporting event coming to Wales in three years’ time.

In addition to the financial reward, a trip for the winning students will be organised to see behind the scenes of Sky Sports’ coverage of the Welsh Open, from the Celtic Manor resort, in 2008.
