The Media 4 Awards Ceremony 2007 brought many highlights for Whitchurch High School, who collected a record five nominations across the different film-making categories.

Ben Travers of 11G, who had only weeks before made his debut as a presenter on the Media 4 Ryder Cup 2010 film, was a runner-up in the Best Presenter category last year won by Year 11 students Ellie Crawley and Chris Russell.

Ben’s prize, shared with camera operators and fellow presenters Tom Sinclair, Dafydd Gape and Sam Stensland, is to travel to next year’s Welsh Open golf championship, and see behind the scenes at first hand how a sports event is put together by the professionals.
