Our school has achieved the above award in recognition of
the whole school commitment to Careers Education and Guidance. The CWQA is
available to recognise high quality, effective, careers education within any
establishment where 14-19 year old students are being educated.
The principal aims of the award are to:
-
To ensure
that all young people in Wales have an equal entitlement to excellent
careers education and guidance;
-
To
acknowledge and celebrate high quality;
-
To act as a
mechanism for supporting the continuing improvement of standards in careers
education and guidance.
Preparation for the award has taken nearly two years of hard
work culminating in a rigorous Inspection Day. Mr Havard would like to thank
all members of staff, pupils and parents for their continued support to our
guidance programme. Particular thanks goes to our advisers at Careers Wales;
Mary Jeans, Rachel Williams and Karen Heffell and also to colleagues who
produced documentation and to the staff and pupils who were interviewed by the
assessors.
Jane Davidson will present the award to the school in June
2005, the school is now entitled to display the award logo.
